Most of us get at least a few days off during the holidays, so it can be a good time to squeeze in some travel. If you’re looking for an affordable place to visit, check out Kayak’s list of budget-friendly cities for holiday travel.
Kayak crunched millions of flight and hotel searches in their database (they released a similar report last year). The report includes travel destinations in the U.S. as well as international cities (from the U.S. and Canada), beach destinations, and New Year’s Eve travel.
San Jose, Costa Rica had prices that were 35% lower than the overall median price for international flights, making them #1 on Kayak’s international list. Median airfare to San Jose is $480 round-trip in November, $654 in December, and $475 in January.
Las Vegas topped their list of U.S. cities for cheap holiday travel. Median airfare to Vegas is $258 in November, $247 in December, and just $221 in January. Here’s their full list of affordable international destinations from the U.S. and Canada:
