“It’s incredibly difficult — every biographical movie I watch about a singer, it’s the same story. Man comes from nothing, man fights for fame, man finds success, man leaves his family, man regrets leaving family,” the Grammy winner, 41, told BBC Radio 4 last month. “I won’t allow that to happen.”
The star — who revealed on Friday his 3-year-old son Noah is currently battling cancer — has embarked on sold-out tours and released multiple hit albums over the last few years.
And while he would “fight for balance … if one suffers, we know which one will go,” he added. “It won’t be my kids. I just love them way too much.”
The singer also lightheartedly discussed the small but sweet sacrifices he makes to get some extra love from sons Noah and 9-month-old Elias.
“If you have kids, you know it’s like a petri-dish for infections and colds,” he said. “I will take getting sick a million times over to get those kisses. I need those kisses. They’re my fuel.”
Bublé and his wife Luisana Lopilato, 29, announced the heartbreaking cancer news to his fans via a statement posted to his Facebook page.
“We are devastated about the recent cancer diagnosis of our oldest son Noah who is currently undergoing treatment in the US,” wrote the couple. “We have always been very vocal about the importance of family and the love we have for our children. Luisana and I have put our careers on hold in order to devote all our time and attention to helping Noah get well.”
